Project Description
Pink Riders was a concept I designed from a brief for a women’s motorcycle clothing and accessory brand. The idea was to have ‘big name’ and own-branded specialised and casual clothing in standalone Pink Riders stores as well as concessions within large male-oriented motorcycle shops and, of course, an online presence. There would also be the option of having motorcycle suits on a made-to-measure basis.
The idea was born from the inability to find a decent range of women’s motorcycle suits and the limited sizes available. The majority of motorcycle stores are dominated by male clothing, gloves and boots, usually with one ‘token’ rail of women’s equipment. Consequently, ladies of a fuller figure generally have to resort to men’s clothing which never quite fits the curves of a woman’s body and is unflattering.
I treated the concept in a similar fashion to surf brands, where the core business is specialist equipment, which is reinforced by a range of fashion items, making the brands household names.
